DOOM (shareware)

id Software, 1993 · First-person shooter

Episode one, Knee-Deep in the Dead, from id's 1.9 shareware archive, unpacked in the page; played by linuxdoom-1.10 with its sound server.

Arguments

empty starts the game as it shipped: title screen, attract demos, and a key opens the menu. `-warp <episode> <map> -skill <1-5>` drops straight into a level; `-playdemo <name>` replays one. **`-grabmouse` is what turns the mouse on** -- id left `PointerMotionMask` commented out in i_video.c:802, so the window never asks X for motion; the XGrabPointer behind -grabmouse is what does.

They go in this page's address, so a link to it starts the program the same way.

PRISM's log
What PRISM says while it runs the program shows here once it is playing.

It needs a keyboard, and most games take the mouse too.
